2. Analytics & Visitor Measurement

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is the website’s sole analytics provider. I use GA4 to collect aggregated, anonymous usage statistics (such as total page views, general country/city region, device types, and broad traffic sources) to understand how visitors interact with my portfolio.

This website does not create or retain raw visitor IP logs in Firestore. Google Analytics may use an IP address temporarily to derive broad location information before discarding it. Google confirms that individual EU, UK and Swiss IP addresses are not logged or stored by GA4.

Legal Basis for Analytics: Processing analytics data relies on your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). GA4 tracking scripts are completely disabled by default and will only activate if you click "Accept Analytics" on the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the Cookie settings link in the website footer.

3. Direct Contact Form Submissions

If you submit a message through the direct contact form on this website, I collect your name, email address, and message text.

• Storage: Submitted messages are saved securely in Google Cloud Firestore (contacts collection). Public read, update, or delete operations are strictly blocked by database security rules.
• Purpose & Legal Basis: Processing contact inquiries relies on legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) to review and respond to communications initiated by you.
• Retention Period: Contact messages are reviewed periodically and are normally deleted within 12 months of the last correspondence unless they must be retained longer for legal or administrative reasons.

4. Infrastructure & Service Providers

This static web application is hosted on Firebase Hosting (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC). Standard technical request logs may be processed by hosting infrastructure to deliver web content securely.

5. Your Data Protection Rights

Under general data protection regulations (including GDPR), you have the right to:

• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data you have provided to me via the contact form.

• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Ireland, the relevant body is the Data Protection Commission (DPC Ireland) at dataprotection.ie.
